On 23-25 May 2022, the International Association for the Study of German Politics (IASGP) and Academy for Civic Education Tutzing jointly hosted the conference “Germany’s New Foreign Policy”.

The hosts brought together international experts from academia, think tanks, journalism, and politics with the interested public for a hybrid conference on the banks of Lake Starnberg to discuss continuities and change in Germany’s foreign policy.

The IASGP also funded the participation of six of its members across Germany, Portugal, the US and Turkey.

With the support of the IASGP acting Chair, Ed Turner, IASGP member Josefin Graef, who attended the event, pulled together a conference report, which will be useful for those who could not join in person on this occasion.

We are very grateful to Josefin for her initiative to make the content of presentations and discussions available to all IASGP members.

We would also like to address a special thank you to the presenters in the session that was initially held under Chatham House rules for their permission to share their input.
