Book Summary

IASGP co-founder retires
Professor Willie Paterson, Director of the Institute for German Studies at the University of Birmingham, has retired from his post. Professor Paterson was instrumental in establishing the Association in 1974 (with Geoff Roberts), and in co-founding the IASGP journal, German Politics.

In a speech marking the occasion, Professor Paterson paid tribute to his many academic collaborators and the IASGP network for furthering research on contemporary Germany. Read the full text of Professor Paterson's retirement speech.
